 Purchasing Coordinator

 We are currently assisting our client in finding a Purchasing Coordinator to step into the full-time, temporary role for 6 months with possibility of extension.

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Submitting purchase orders for supplies, materials and equipment
  • Sourcing of international vendors
  • Reviewing historical purchasing information to stay ahead of recurring orders
  • Monitoring relationships and contracts with suppliers
  • Working with various departments to ensure any material and supply needs are met
  • Utilizing company’s MRP system to assist in ordering and monitoring purchasing requirements

Qualifications:

  • Experience purchasing in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with international sourcing and purchasing
  • Experience purchasing both raw materials and finished goods
  • Ability to work with internal staff to obtain information on their department’s purchasing needs
  • Ability to build relationships and manage third party vendors
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent time management and organization skills

 As the Production Manager you will be responsible for providing effective hands on leadership to your team. You will oversee and coordinate all production activities and work to maximize the capacity of the process. You will be responsible for setting daily and weekly production objectives, communicating the plan and setting performance targets, developing work schedules and the day to day management of staff. As a hands-on manager, you will be out on the floor to ensure production is on track and employees have what they need to meet their goals. Working closely with your staff, you will identify areas for process improvement and develop and implement workable solutions. As a people leader, you will work to mentor and coach your staff to increase engagement and create a positive and productive workplace.

 As the ideal candidate you have 5+ years of production management experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You have exceptional leadership skills and a demonstrated ability to engage and motivate staff. You love a challenge and have been part of a leadership team that has successfully navigated an organization through change and you’ve demonstrated you can effectively communicate throughout the process. Reporting to the SVP, Sales and Marketing, the Director, National Sales will influence and drive strategies to support the growth of accounts across Canada. Leading a team of sales agents across the country, the Director, National Sales will identify areas of opportunity and direct and execute service delivery to all accounts. Responsible for strategy and establishing sales targets and objectives, the incumbent will monitor performance against targets and will continually examine and analyze market trends, as well as retail and competitor activity within the respective areas, always keeping an eye out for new business opportunities.

As the ideal candidate, you possess a Bachelor’s degree in Business or equivalent and are an experienced sales leader preferably from within a consumer-packaged goods environment. With proven success leading a national sales force, you are able to accurately assess sales metrics and performance and implement accountability. With a demonstrated track record managing multiple brands and category channels, you have progressive business development experience and can easily negotiate new and existing contracts to a successful close. Always maintaining a customer focus, you are proactive and a skilled relationship builder, and enjoy interacting first-hand with your clients. Using clear and concise communication skills that energize and motivate others, you are results-focused and are always looking for innovative ways to improve the status quo.
